Hi! I’m Lauren, a registered Osteopath and Clinical Pilates instructor, and owner of LJ Osteopathy. Nice to meet you!

Following a career working with children with physical, behavioural and learning difficulties, I first came to Osteopathy through a dance-related injury. Inspired by the treatment I received, I went on to study for a Masters degree in Osteopathy at Oxford Brookes University and qualified in 2012. During my time at university, I completed a research project on breathing disorders and lower back pain and treated many patients with various complex conditions and medical histories.

On graduation, I registered with the General Osteopathic Council and the Institute of Osteopathy and worked at practices in Kent, West Sussex and Surrey. In January 2018, I was approached to open a clinic at Kings Gym Croydon, in Waddon, Surrey. I took the leap and truly found my passion! It has been at Kings Gym that I have developed extensive experience working with body builders and power lifters from amateur level to professional athletes. With a passion for long term recovery from injury and a strong desire to collaborate with my patients rather than dictate their activities, I focus on treating your immediate pain and helping you to manage it going forward through strengthening exercises, stretches and lifestyle advice.

Like all osteopaths, I complete continued professional development yearly and have attended conferences on a number of topics including:

  • Dry Needling
  • Strength and Conditioning for Therapists
  • Gym related shoulder injuries
  • First Aid and Clinical Emergencies
  • Hypermobility and Performing Arts
  • Dance Related Injuries
  • Advances in Spinal Surgery
  • Clinical Pilates

Although I happily treat everyone, my specialisms lie in treating people from a sporting or performing arts background as well as pregnant and post-natal women. Using my Osteopathy training and experience, Clinical Pilates qualification, and personal experience with injury and recovery, I will help you to find a lasting solution to your aches and pain!

When I’m away from clinic, I enjoy doing all forms of exercise including weight training, step aerobics, Yoga and Pilates. I also enjoy cooking, travelling and spending time with friends and family.

Having returned from maternity leave in 2023, you’ll find me in clinic on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and alternate Saturdays. With this, appointments get booked up quickly so be sure to secure your appointment today using our booking system or by calling me on 07840130294. See you soon!
