About LJO

Following a career working with children with physical, behavioural and learning difficulties, Lauren first came to Osteopathy through a dance-related injury. Inspired by the treatment she had received, Lauren went on to study for a Masters degree in Osteopathy at Oxford Brookes University and qualified in 2012. During her time here, she completed a research project on breathing disorders and lower back pain and treated many patients with various complex conditions and medical histories.

On graduation, Lauren became registered with the General Osteopathic Council and the Institute of Osteopathy. She has worked at practices in Kent, West Sussex and Surrey, before joining Charlotte Hunt Osteopaths, located at The Therapy and Life Centre, Coulsdon, Surrey. In January 2018, Lauren went on to open her own clinic at Kings Gym, Waddon, Surrey. It has been at Kings Gym that Lauren has developed extensive experience working with body builders and power lifters from amateur level to professional athletes. With a passion for long term recovery from injury, Lauren focuses on treating your immediate pain and helping you to manage it going forward through strengthening exercises, stretches and lifestyle advice.

Like all osteopaths, Lauren completes continued professional development yearly and has attended conferences on a number of topics including

  • Dry Needling
  • Strength and Conditioning for Therapists
  • Gym related shoulder injuries
  • First Aid and Clinical Emergencies
  • Hypermobility and Performing Arts
  • Dance Related Injuries
  • Advances in Spinal Surgery
  • Clinical Pilates

Although she happily treats everyone, Lauren specialises in treating people from a sporting or performing arts background as well as pregnant women. Using her Osteopathy training and experience, Clinical Pilates qualification, and personal experience with injury and recovery, Lauren will help you to find a lasting solution to your aches and pain!

When she is away from clinic, Lauren enjoys doing all forms of exercise including weight training, step aerobics, Yoga and Pilates. She also enjoys cooking, travelling and spending time with friends and family.
